This is a first important step: all of us have arrived in Kathmandu, and equally important, no luggage was lost.  Looks like we are a nice group of 21 people getting ready for our trek to basecamp.  All of us are planning to do the trek to Everest basecamp, and a few (like myself) will then continue to the summit.

Spent the first day performing a gear check and purchased a few items that were missing.  All I needed was a softshell jacket and an additional pair of gloves.  Navigating the city was a bit of an adventure, though.  The traffic is not for the faint-hearted!  See video below.

We are now waiting for our flight to Lukla.  This is where the trek to basecamp begins.  There is a tiny airport and flights are available only when the weather conditions are stable.  There were no flights yesterday, but we are staying optimistic…
